What is BLB’s “Code of Values”?
The BLB Code Of Values are shown on the website and membership application. Applicants for membership must commit to uphold these values, as a condition of continuing membership.
Where does the membership money go to?
Every $1.00AUD of the membership money goes to paying for the costs of building and maintaining the website, and for providing the services of the BLB.
What is the membership cost?
Membership for BLB is $1.00 per person and includes children of the family up to the age of 18, after which they will need to apply for their own membership.
Is BLB a Union or a Club?
BLB is not a Trade Union, however, it is formed with the same right of assembly and right of association laws and rights that are accorded to every living man and woman.
Is there anyone who cannot join the CVA?
All applications for membership will be vetted. There is a series of questions that will establish the likelihood of that applicant’s ability or intention to adhere to the Code of Values which we hold dear. That is the primary consideration of whether an application will be accepted.
How does the BLB operate under law?
As BLB, like every well-established PMA, operates in a non-statutory environment, there are no lawyers or courts. Instead, we have an Internal Dispute Resolution system, rather than law firms to settle arguments or disputes. It is well known that law firms are paid hourly rates. It is in their interests to prolong the negotiation/argument and thereby increase their fees. BLB’s internal dispute resolution process begins with a conversation and may proceed to mediation in front of a third party but will never include a lawyer. Therefore, all resolutions are reached internally within BLB and do not include lawyers or the judicial court system.
